Hi, I am Nick Doll.
I moved to Key West in March of 2010 and started over completely, not really knowing anyone except for a couple of people that my uncle and aunt knew from the A & B Marina & The White Tarpon. I waited table for a brief bit at Schooner Wharf before getting behind the bar at Turtle Kraals Tower bar that spring. One of the early people I met was Chris Shultz, who ended up opening The Porch, where he took a chance on me and I became part of a creative and burgeoning Key West scene centered around the new craft beer bar. Shooting photos for all of the crazy parties thrown there ingratiated me with an amazing ground of people and random Key Westers alike. From there the island opened up to me and within a short amount of time I was able to focus solely on photography as a means for making a living, and expressing myself artistically.
Seeing the connectivity on this island makes me happy. We live in a ridiculously unique place where our shared experience is fostered by the small degree of separation between friends & strangers on this island. That in and of itself curates a creative and healthy place to call home.
